#40 Quote of the Week (10)

“Measurement is the first step that leads to control and eventually to improvement.  If you can’t measure something, you can’t understand it.  If you can’t understand it, you can’t control it.  If you can’t control it, you can’t improve it.”

-H. James Harrington

I don’t think we need to measure everything.  With that said, I do believe that measurement of something is essential to track any improvement.  It can be as simple as writing a journal entry or as complicated as tracking your bar speed during training.  Whatever it may be, we should start writing down something in order to measure and ultimately improve your training, diet, mood, or just the quality of life.  “If we don’t know where we are starting, we don’t know where we are headed.”  You have to know where your Point A is so that you’ll know how to get to your Point B.
